Hello divers,
The July open water training dives will be held on the weekend of July 10/11 at Haigh Quarry, Kankakee, Illinois (www.haighquarry.com).
Haigh Quarry is a very good training facility in a park-like setting. They charge a $20/day entry fee (you are responsible for this). Open Water Diver students will meet at the quarry at noon on Saturday. We will do two or three dives Saturday (depending on numbers of students, weather and water). We will finish up the last dive or two Sunday morning. Again, depending on numbers of students and how many dives we get in on Saturday, we should be heading for home shortly after noon. There are recommendations for lodging on the Haigh Quarry website.
Space is limited for this weekend and spots will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis. Please let me know if you'd like to join us as soon as you can.
There will be an opportunity for those of you already certified as Open Water Divers to do the Advanced Open Water Diver course that weekend. If you are interested, please let me know and we can work out the details. The cost of the Advanced Open Water Diver course is $162.44, which includes gear rental, air fills, materials and certification. You are responsible for you own entry fees, transportation and lodging.
As always, those of you who are certified are more than welcome to come on out for a fun day or two of diving. Gear rental and air fills are available at moderate cost.
