Hi gang,
It’s time to think about increasing your repertoire of scuba diving skills! There is plenty of summer left and the water is as warm as it’s going to get.
First off, I will be offering the PADI Enriched Air Diver (Nitrox) class. The classroom session will be held on July 14th with the dives either July 25th or 26th at Haigh Quarry (the two dives may be done in one day). Nitrox is an excellent way to increase your bottom time – and isn’t that what we’re there for?
Next, on the weekend of August 15th & 16th I will be offering the PADI Rescue Diver course at Pearl Lake. Rescue Diver is one of the most challenging course you will ever take, yet one of the most rewarding. You will learn how to prevent and manage diving emergencies through lots and lots of hands-on practice. This certification follows the PADI Advanced Open Water Diver certification and expands your awareness from your diving environment to your fellow divers.
Another prerequisite for Rescue Diver is a current First Aid/CPR certification from a qualified agncy. The Emergency First Responder course prepares you for all types of first aid emergency response, not just scuba injuries. This includes both part 1 (CPR and Basic life Support) and part 2 (First Aid). It will be offered over two evenings, July 28th & 29th.
I am attaching information sheets about all of these classes. I encourage you to look them over and sign up for whichever ones interest you.
Hope to hear from you all soon!
Jim
