The Enchanted Islands. The Cradle of Evolution. Islas Galápagos. Whatever the name, the Galapagos Islands are a special place known for tremendous diversity in species almost untouched by human influence. It was these islands that led Charles Darwin to his theory of evolution following his visit there in 1835. These islands still attract environmentalists, scientists – and divers!
So, O.K., the Gathering is not going to the Galapagos Islands, but we will do the next best thing – the Galapagos Islands are coming to us! Bill Utterback was fortunate to have traveled to the Galapagos this past summer, and we are fortunate to have Bill share that journey with us at the next Gathering. Bill will spin us a tale of creatures seen nowhere else on this planet, of diving on the edge and of a once in a lifetime trip to an incredible destination. Better than an Indiana Jones movie, Bill will keep us entertained and on the edge of our seats with stories that make you feel you are right there with him.
So when, you may ask, will this evening of vicarious adventure take place? Why, on Saturday, November 1st beginning at 6:30. And where, you might reply, will this happen? Why, at the North Liberty Pizza Ranch.
