Hi gang,
Summer is nearly over, but there’s still time to get a class or two in before the weather turns cold. I will be doing Open Water training dives, a Rescue class and Enriched Air Nitrox dives during the month of October.
Open Water Diver training dives will be done on two weekends – October 18th & 19th at Pearl Lake in South Beloit, Illinois, and October 25th & 26th at Haigh Quarry in Kankakee, Illinois. For any of you who have not yet completed these dives, this will be your last shot this fall. Space both weekends will be limited, so please let me know as soon as you could if you would like to do your Open water Diver certification dives on either of these weekends.
Back by popular demand, I will be offering one more Rescue class this fall as well. The specific dates haven’t been determined (we’ll see what works best for everyone), but it will be done in a two-Saturday format. We’ll spend the first Saturday honing all of your skills in the Wilton Pool, and then head out to Pearl lake the following weekend for your open water training dives. The cost of the course is $285 which includes all materials, gear rental, air fills, pool fees and lake entry fees. Transportation to and from Pearl Lake will be your responsibility.
Finally, I will be conducting another Enriched Air Nitrox class for those interested in extending their bottom times (anybody planning to go somewhere warm and enticing this winter)? Classroom for this course will be held in Iowa City on Thursday, October 23rd in Iowa City with the training dives on Saturday, October 25th at Haigh Quarry. The cost of the Enriched Air Diver certification is $175 and includes all required materials, gear rental and nitrox fills. Transportation to and from Haigh Quarry and the $20/diver entry fee is not included.
