Hello, divers! Just a reminder of the dive day trips planned for this month and next. First, this coming Sunday brings us to the Caribbean of the Midwest, Haigh Quarry! Think palm trees, flamingoes, blue skies, warm water… well, three out of four ain’t bad. Sunday, July 20th is the 7th annual Jim Haigh Memorial Dive/Customer Appreciation Day. there will be door prizes, raffles, live music, great fun and really good diving! The entry fee for this day is a reduced $15/person and air fills are only $4. All profits from the day will go to the John G. Shedd Aquarium Volunteer Diver Equipment Maintenance Program. Come on out, enjoy some fun with your fellow divers and contribute to a good cause. Let’s plan to meet at Haigh Quarry at 11:00.
In August (Saturday the 9th to be exact), we are planning to go up to Pearl lake in South Beloit, Illinois. Pearl is not only a nice dive site with lots of fish and underwater attractions, but also has a great sandy beach for the non-divers in the family! For those of you who want to make your own way up, we can meet at the Lake at 11:00. For those who want to caravan, let’s plan to leave the Iowa City Quality inn & Suites parking lot (Highway 1 and I-80) at 7:30.
