ADVANCED OPEN WATER DIVER
Are you looking for fun and adventure? Are you looking for a chance to fine-tune your skills and explore new experiences? You found it! PADI's Adventures In Diving program offers the certified diver a structured program where you gain additional experience and skills under the guidance of a PADI Professional. In the Adventures in Diving program, you select dives from the following list:
Altitude Diver Boat Diver
Deep Diver Drift Diver
Dive Propulsion Vehicle Dry Suit Diver
Multilevel Diver Night Diver
Peak Performance Buoyancy Project AWARE Fish Identification
Search & Recovery Underwater Naturalist
Underwater Navigator Underwater Photographer
Underwater Videographer Wreck Diver
The Adventures In Diving program offers two certification options. You may complete any three Adventure Dives to earn the Adventure Diver rating. If you complete the Deep and Underwater Navigation Dives and three additional Adventure Dives (five total), you earn the Advanced Open Water Diver certification. Divers between the ages of 12-14 who complete the dives can earn a Junior Adventure Diver or Junior Advanced Open Water Diver rating.
By becoming an Adventure Diver or Advanced Open Water Diver, you demonstrate your commitment to continuing development of your diving skills and experiences. As an Adventure Diver or Advanced Open Water Diver you are eligible to continue your training even further with certain select specialty courses, like the Wreck and Deep Diver Specialties. The Advanced Open Water Diver or Junior Advanced Open Water Diver certification also lets you continue on to the Rescue Diver or Junior Rescue Diver course. And what’s more, the Adventure Dives you do as part of your Adventure Diver or Advanced Open Water course may count towards PADI Specialty Diver certifications. For example, if you like deep diving and want to earn your PADI Deep Diver rating, your Deep Adventure Dive counts as the first dive of the specialty.
